The Town of West Hartford is located 5 miles west of downtown Hartford, and is situated deep in the heart of Connecticut. This historic community has roots tracing all the way back to the 1630s. That being said, West Hartford didn't truly begin to flourish until the late 18th Century, when three turnpikes were developed in town. Shortly thereafter, horse-drawn and electric trolleys were created, which allowed West Hartford to evolve into the modern suburb that we know today.
